thanksgiving session

I snuck out late morning for a quick backyard session-thought I was sneaking but my wife caught be on film from our living room  . I'm still afraid to pull the trigger "full on" with the landboard-as previously mentioned the falls hurt!

Mike, I rigged at 9am and nothing came up until after 11 am so it would have been a bust this am on the ice for us.

very thankful the joy and friends this sport has brought me-and of course a loving and very tolerant family.

Kurt, that looks like tons of fun! You're really dialing it in. Has anyone checked Forest Lake ice thickness? A session by City Park would be cool. Are you using an Olympic Stylus camera? The prices have really dropped, but I have some questions: What editing program do you use? Your videos are always fun. Can it be used remotely, like strapped to the center strut? Maybe we could have a LAKAWA video/ media forum this winter to exchange ideas. Think COLD thoughts!

I'm not sure about Forest Lake, But I live on the south bay of Green Lake (the one in Chisago city) just north of FL and my bay has been frozen for well over a week now. I was out on it last weekend and all last week. There is a at least 4" of good black ice. I did notice that First Lake on FL was iced over on Wednesday. Not sure if its good though. Looks like there is suppose to be a little wind on Sunday. Anyone is more than welcome to access Green lake through my land, drop me an e-mail or call. I'll be out there Sunday.

I was out at Swede Lake on Friday and drilled a few holes. The ice was between 4-4.5 inches thick. I'm hopin gto get out there tomorrow and give the switchblade a shot.

Jim, thanks, yep it is a stylus, cheap camera, bomb proof, shoots underwater. Not the best picture but does the job. I'd like to have a nice HD camera some day. I'm just using the basic windows movie maker program that came on my computer. One can spend hours and hours editing-kinda like sanding.

Jeff, I may take you up on your offer to get on the south bay of green. My brother lives off of kismet on the south end of the big part of Green lake-but it is not safe at this time!

Forest Lake #1 is good if you launch from the city park and stay to the south. We've been skating for over a week.

Kurt, yea the main lake just froze over a couple of days ago, but the bay has been frozen all the way out to the main lake since 2 tuesdays ago. My driveway is right across the road from where kizmet turns to the right and turns to gravel. I'll probably head out after lunch sometime. Looks like the wind will be picking up as the day goes on. We only got a dusting of snow which shouldn't be a problem with skates.
