What do you wear on your feet?

So I am trying to decide on what to buy for my feet before I go to Padre.
I am not the barefoot type, but I don't want to be restricted by thick shoes so that I can't feel the board.
I usually wear my wetsuit boots, which are ok, but the tan line is a killer :)
I have been looking into the Vibram fivefingers shoes

which I tried on at Midwest Mountaineering, and loved, but I'm not sure if anybody has tried kiting with them.
Any ideas?

O neil and dakine both make a very nice split toe shoe, very like the vibram fingers but designed more for kiting and windsurfing.My feeling looking at the fingers was they would slip around, but it's a guess Michele, no facts to base it on.

Love the 5 fingers. Haven't tried them kiting though. The pair I tried on were nice and snug and i think would stay on.

I like the ONiell split toe that Steve mentioned. They are low and very thin so you don't really know you have they on. Do not wear them on pavement, not even across the parking lot. They wear out quickly. On the Beach has them down in Padre. You'ld definitely want to try them on to get the correct size.

Maybe you can get a discount if you're just buying one : )

I like my five fingers! good feel on the board, stay on, the sand does get inside a little but not that big of deal. I have used mine for 2 years now.
