Milly Today
Anyone heading to milly today?? I'll probably leave around 10. If it doesn't look like anyone is going to be around I'll just kite locally here.
Re: Milly Today
Bryce, we missed seeing you yesterday @ Malmo. Seth, Craig, Terry & I had the place to ourselves. Started on 12's , but then pumped up big stuff by mid afternoon.
Had a nice & relatively warm session, sunshine, a great meal at Carlsona, & later saw a sky full of stars at the campfire. After all that, I could not get excited about going out in the cold precip today. Terry & Craig were talking windsurfing Father Hennepin, but don't know if that is going down. I drove back to the cities and a face full of sleet...not my favorite kite/surf atmosphere. Be careful out there!!!

Yeah I missed malmo yesterday and today... Yesterday I was going to get some yard work done and it was looking like the wind died before I got up. Today It didn't look like anyone was going to be out so I stayed local at pelican for about an hour. But I broke a line and got to walk back. Oops.. I was fun up til then!

I stopped by Father Hennepin around 1:00 to check it out but the temp was 36 --- too cold for me alone. The wind was howling and the lake a frothy white with spray blowing into the picnic area. Just off the point waves were crashing in multiple directions and furthur out they didn't seem to be keeping any predictable rollers but breaking up into a mine field of jagged peaks. Impressive. Mother nature can deliver some awe inspiring beauty at times.

Hey Terry,
Sorry, I wimped out yesterday. I got to Malmo around 10 with the whole intention of riding, but the wind had to be blasting near 40... a little too much for my 5m sail. I watched the conditions for about 20 minutes and decided to check to see if you or anyone else were sailing down at Fr. Henepin. And I was again quite humbled by the lake. It seemed like the wind was much more managable, but the wave action was impressive to say the least! It definitely would have been a blast, but I didn't feel like searching out that elusive rock pile solo in those conditions either. I ended up headed down south and stoped by Calhoun to find a few surfers waiting for the gusts to sort out. Didn't end up riding all day. Hopefuly I'll be able to get out of work today to catch a little redemption on Calhoun or Waconia!
