What's The Deal With Lake Minnetonka?

Seems to this newbie that Lake Minnetonka is unpopular w/ the windsurfers. Why? (Winter kiters seem to like it.)

Is it lack of user-friendly rig or launch sites?
Squirrely winds?
Weeds?
Is it the big boats? Too many boats?

Any reason I should avoid Minnetonka?

Anyone sail regularly on Minnetonka?
