I'm guessing Reddy will be the place to be. What are the best tent camping options in the area?

I will be there on Sunday for sure.
If it looks like tomorrow is going to pick up then I might head up too.

I'll be up all weekend trying to get up this afternoon early, if I can get out of work.

I'm planning on heading up there tomorrow or Sunday. I'm hoping Tighe has his 5 Meter up there if the wind is really blowing (for me to try or just look at like I did last time).

Didn't get any swimmer's itch the last couple times I was at Reddy. Malmo must be the party place for the ducks.

I will bring some chocolate chip cookies!!

See u there.

I think my wife and I are going to come to Mille Lacs for the first time this weekend. Should be showing up late in the evening on Sat.

Will probably camp if there is a good spot. Any suggestions?

I assume Reddy is the place where it will be best for the wind direction? Is it good for windsurfing too? Forecast looks good, I think it should turn out to be 5.0 and below, is that about right for the look of the forecast and local info?

Anyone going to be camping up there for weekend to have a few beers with in the evenings?

Any help would be great, thanks in advance,

Wheeler

I'd be surprised if it gets up to 5.0 conditions. I'm a kiter, but that kind of wind rarely shows on a south day, especially on the water surface. We may be riding 7 meter kites, but on the surface the wind will only be blowing 15. You never know however, it could be nukin.

As for camping, that is a bit of a problem on the north shore. Pete's is good but expensive (just north of malmo), and I think there is a place in garrison, but that is about it. On the south shore there is Father hennipen state park in Isle, and Kathio state park on the west shore. Some of the resorts on the east shore may allow campers, you'd have to stop in and see. It is a holiday weekend, so some of those (especially the state parks) could be booked. Good luck.

I can't wait for sunday, try out my old 9 meter C kite again.
