NW Minnesota Lakes? Wednesday

I'm driving from Winnipeg to Fargo (I-29) and then onto Minneapolis (I-94 through NW Minnesota). The wind nd temps are looking really good--especially the western and northern parts of this drive. I'd love to get a ride in along the way. Anyone know of any good lakes/launches not too far from these interstates? Does Nathan Borer live somewhere out that direction?
