I just spoke to Alex, he's at Wayzata Beach right now teaching a lesson - says the conditions are great. I'm going to start making the normal excuses at work and head out. Hope to see you there!

I just got back from Waconia. The ice is almost perfect. Most of the snow has blown off. It's windy. Must have been around 25 mph. I found one large pile of slush out in the middle which cut my fun short. I got dragged through it head first. I had a hell of a time getting my frozen skates off.
Nice - very nice!

White Bear was awesome. Crusty ice and pillows of drifty snow. Very good for skis. Windier than I expected. Barry was tearing it up when I left.

A guy was hurt when the front blade of his ice boat broke through a pressure ridge. He broke his arm, and was taken away by ambulance. The ice was about 5-6in. all around the area though.

Herve, I launched from Bellaire Beach. This is a great spot for West winds. There is a huge Bald Eagle's nest on the other side of the bay. You can get close to it. The thing swooped down at me the other day-- quite a thrill. I plan to be out by late morning on Saturday. Come on out.
