Lake Pepin this weekend!

Post by Chris B »

I will be in Lake City this weekend for Water Ski Days, and it looks rock'in both Saturday and Sunday. It looks to be 18-20 from the West on Saturday so Pepin on the WI side would be the call. Sunday looks like a perfect 20+ NNW for the point in Lake City. The beer tent is also set up on the point…brilliant! The fetch on a NNW has to be 15-20 miles. Beer, Music, Wind, Hot rich boater Chicks, all check!

If you’re coming from the north take a left at the first stop light. That will take you to the marina parking lot. The point is in that direction but it might take a little zigzagging through the parking lot in order to get through the carnival crap and people.

I live near Rochester, half way between Clear Lake and Lake City. I usually avoid waterski days but if you guys are going, I will be there and try to get Dave to abandon pottery for a day. We have not found a place there that is shallow enough for newbies, but we are desperate to get out.

Be there EARLY!!! and you will skip the crowds. I'll be there as well. However, I will be unable to partake in the "beer tent" since I have to work later in the day.... =( I will be eating those yummy beer brats though!!

Directions:

From Hwy 61 southbound.
At the first stop light downtown Lake City take a left.
The road will come to a 'T'.
If you look to your right you will see the street fair
Turn left
Take an IMMEDIATE right to enter the parking area of the marina.
You will see tennis courts on your left.
Go past the tennis courts and go straight.

(The road does a little zig zag to the left and then the right but go generally straight) At this point you are about 2 blocks away.

You will see a line of portapotties on your left. follow the portapotties straight ahead.
At the stop sign go right (you have no choice it's a one way)
Follow the road around to the left and park in the lot at the end of
"The point"

If you get there before 10AM you should have no problem parking.

Woo Hoo!! Finally, Pepin is the place to be!!! See ya'll there!!
Ride On!

It was great steady wind, there was 3 kiters and 5 windsurfers out.

Chris ...from now on I'm calling the point Schreddy Beach, the bottom of my feet are cut to hell.
