An informal race series for windsurfers will start Tuesday on Calhoun. Tuesdays were selected because that is the only evening Calhoun Yacht Club has no scheduled racing. We will meet at 6:30 for a racers meeting, so everyone should be rigged by then. Those looking for rigging assistance or race info should be there by 5:30.
While the focus is developing the entry-level, our more experienced racers will be available to share comradery and sailing knowledge. If you know anyone who wants to enhance their windsurfing skills, let them know about Tuesdays on Calhoun. Up to the minute info and meeting site, you can contact 612-508-8083.

I might try it out... I just have to work around Kung Fu and work... But it sounds like an awesome idea!

Great Initiative Mike, this would be so fun, I can see where there will be lots of local sailors taking up windsurfing racing agian if they get teased out on Tuesday night racing. What about finding a local company to sponsor a race series with a "dash for cash" weekly race? I will try to come up from Des Moines a few times, this will be awesome... Let me know if I can help with anything promotion wise down here in Des Moines.

That would be awesome too! That would give people like me a chance to earn some extra money and get some new gear... Maybe contact Robby Naish by the means of his promotion of the sport?
Also, sponsorship would probably bring more people for that reason, but it could bring the better and greedy folks too...
Just my thoughts, I love the ideas.

The parking lot on the North side at 6:00. You can call 612-508-8083 if you are headed that way but running late.
