wireless phone Lakawa browsing toubles

Post by drknap »

I can pull up the main lakawa page fine but none of the links (chat, classified, wind, etc) are active on my blackberry (via verizon). Anyone else have problems with there internet phone? With the blackberry?

I've been able to get most of the site on my BB. I used it the other day to get directions to Bellair

but seriously.

I used to have a minimal site for wireless phones. It seemed like the tech was catching up so fast that the within a short period of time we'd have the whole site anyway.

If there is interest I could make a minimal front page with links to key info.

Chat
Lakes (list)
A few key forecasts.

anything else?

Any interest?

you guys are a lot of help! :? I'm with verizon so no iphone.

I have no issues with any other site, my phone (BB curve) will even stream youtube videos. The issue is that none of the links on lakawa are selectable or active on the main page. weird.

I have a BB curve (8320) too and I can get to most of the links. I just checked again. I am with t-mobile, but that shouldn't make a difference. I drive by Bellair every day going to and from work. I've been hoping to hook up with you guys. We could compare the browser settings to see if there is a difference.

I went to local verizon store and lakawa worked perfectly with the BB pearl but not the BB curve, mine or the model in the store. must be some difference in software between the two.

Kurt,
I sometimes have this problem too with my BB pearl (8130) ...It seems to help when I clear the cache in the browser settings....

(By the way, if you don't have it already, you should try the new epocrates for Blackberry - Free mobile drug and formulary reference tool. The docs here at Mayo seem to like it...)

Interesting I went in through a subpage via email topic reply and links work fine but not on the main page. Thanks for the tip mark

Tighe does a great job keeping this website up but I think it is more efficient, especially on a handheld, to just directly bookmark the key sites (eg, hourly readings, 12 hr exp, noaa graphical hourly forecast, animated radar, carlsona, chat).

I've had no problem on my ATT HTC 8525 the last 1.5 yrs getting to the above links. With ATTs 3G network I get dsl speeds all over, even up north. ATT has really improved their network the last 2 yrs all over this state and northern WI. I don't mean to sound like a commercial but I'm just saying this in case you were on them 3-5 yrs ago and had issues, they've improved it.
