Forecast for Hatteras

Weds. night:

NE winds 30 to 35 kt becoming 45 to 50 kt after midnight. Seas 25 to 30 feet. Showers and tstms likely.


How's that sound for some insane wave riding??

anybody ever sail over 30kts? What size sail did you use? How would you describe the experience?

30 knots ain't so bad, 50 is sailable. Over that, and you might want to find yourself some religion.

I just watched a video of Nov. 18, 1993 on Waconia. At 8 in the morning we were sailing 3.0-3.5m sails in 40-60mph winds. Haven't seen the lake like that since. I remember it was cold and the swells were huge. Wish my skills were better then. Don't think I landed a single jump. We're due for another big push.
