How is your late season ice holding up? Any chance for riding in your area? Let us know if it would be worth a trip up to WoodyLand for some late April ice/corn/slush.
Hi Mike - the ice is going fast. I was out a couple of days ago and started to get a bit scared - nobody around and lots of big black patches of clear ice - hard to tell how thick. I'm thinking of putting on the dry suit and bringing some ice picks for one last hurrah. You should have been here on the weekend - slushy snow but still lots of edge control. Anywhere there is current there are big open areas now - I'm guessing it'll be all gone in 2 weeks.
Hey Mike, I'm guessing we still have a foot and a bit of ice with the top getting pretty honeycombed. Lots of water spots now, but still kitable. Too bad you missed last weekend cause it was warm, great surface conditions and W I N D Y
Accuweather for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are looking good for wind right now. Let me know if you're coming up!
Lake Wabigoon Conditions Update: is a big pond of water with the rain we're getting right now...not that optimum for snowkiting. Oh well, one step closer to WINDSURFING season!
I got out yesterday with the 12M Pulse2 - sweet kite! Put the ol' dry suit on just in case.
Feet got totally soaked but it was one last fun ride. Lots of rain today so I guess that's it
for me on the hard stuff.
Thanks for the up-north updates! I missed it by one week again. I may be going out to Montana next week - they still have some great snowpack to ride. I will hit the water when it warms up a bit more.
Paul, I hope you wore a life jacket and brought some flippers!
I went down to the lake and there was a lot of water everywhere...very tempting wind so!
