The last couple of weeks Nancy has had Tuesdays and Wednesdays off work, both weeks it has gone off. Yesterday Nancy was on a 5.9 and her 271 getting nuked. Dennis C managed to get off work he was on a 7.5 and grinning, his gps had him hitting sustained 29 knot runs, Anders started on his 8.4 and got a little worked, Irwin got out after work as did I.
Today the same and Rolf and Christian got out too.We are beginning to get quite a little crew going on Cedar lake. 7 boarders on the lake ,it's getting crowded, I going to have to start to look before Gybing .
Eric, sorry to hear you are back at work, at least we know why the wind has got up all of a sudden, thanks for the sacrifice.
I hope to see a lot of you at the crossing, praying for wind, we must be due a fast looooong reach!.
Be careful. I had Bill S. write the verbage for the Cannon page awhile back. At the time, he and a few others from Rochester, were the only ones there. Since then, and since the parking lot typically fills on big days, he has mentioned that maybe he was a bit to enticing in his prose.
If we tell you, we'll have to unscrew your fin before you go out Sid hehe.
but Seriously, I think Cedar Lake is on this site if your use the search function. Mike G has some good directions to it. I thought it was fantastic, there are so many cool sailors out there we met.
Sorry for the delay getting back I have not had the time to sit in front of the disputer.
The "Doc" i.e Anders is doing great, Wednesday he was out on his Nova and a 6.6. He moved his foot straps from the inside beginner positions to the out on the rail set your hair on fire positions. After giving him a few tips he dailed in his body position and had some 20+ knot runs with his feet in both the straps, and the board skimming on the back 6 inches. The man had some really good in control runs.
I have to say that the Nova was really looking after him, we had 3 foot chop and some swells and though Anders had a few out of control moments most the time his athletism and that board really worked together well. These wide freeride boards like the nova, go and start are amazing!.
Obviously we'd love to see more people come out and play at cedar, 50 % of the joy of windsurfing is the people who do the sport, so if we get any more good southerlies consider yourselves invited.
Steve: Didn't you post Nancy's secret formula for sail cleaner? I tried searching this site to no avail..I think it was a dilute ammonia solution, but I don't want to experiment on my 9.5. Hope her mid week wind charm holds true for this week, too. Gee my old 6.5 felt great!!! jim n
Yeah you got it. If you fill a pint bottle about 1/4 full of ammonia 3/4 water you have a good sail cleaner, I find if the monofilm is really filthy it may need 2 to 3 goes to really break down the cloud, 1 go will clean a normally dirty sail butiful!.
Jim, you cripple, glad to hear you are on the way back to your fine and upstanding former self! I hope we get to see you again soon.
