Snowkiting in ID

Post by Shane »

Anyone snowkited in Idaho?

I'll be staying in Ketchum for about a week and noticed that there are kiting spots mid-way between Boise and Ketchum. If anyone has experience snowkiting out there, I'd welcome any information you can kick my way—launches, winds, etc. I'm not entirely sure I'm going to bring kites, but I figured I should do a bit more homework before I pack.

Thanks,
Shane

I know they board just north of Ketchum, and as far as between Ketchum and Boise... the Soldier Mountain area has a kiting event so I'm sure you could probably google and find some further info on that and maybe a local contact.

Check out

Like Utah and Montana, it's becoming a great Snowkite Resort area.

OK, that was a momentary, but serious, loss of priorities on my part.
The kites and board are packed. If the wind gods looks kindly upon us, I will be driving straight from the airport to a Kite Soldiers event outside of Fairfield on Saturday.
Thanks.
