Jon-- Hope it goes well. Glad somebody's willing to push the limits. That is a long fetch.

That is actually not so far from Rochester. We can't go today, but if it looks like a good place to you, especially for body dragging  , we may go there sometime.
Rochester Mark, have you ever been there?

Jan Marie,
Yes, I've been there...only in the summer though! It works well for kiting, shallow entry and a good fetch with with the right direction...

well I have some good news and some sad news.

the snow was amazing down there. I walked into a field and it was up to my knees.

the sad news. I decided I didn't want to pay the $120 in gas it would have cost in my jeep. so we took the honda. the roads were bad, but passable. until we were 10miles from the lake. the plowed roads ended... we made it another 5 miles in the next hour and it just got tooooo bad for my car. so we had to turn arround.

we tried to find a field and we found some sweet looking ones but there was so much snow on the roads we couldn't park any where. I tried one field but we couldn't get to the downwind side of it... so it knida sucked, well it realy sucked but the snow was great.

I would like to head down there agin it is the spot to be right now. might go next weekend fri - sunday and check out fond du lac as well

any one know how to get an update on fond du lac?... Uffe?

Mark, can you give me some info on Petenwell lake? Parking (decent sholders), dnr launches, big wind blocks (hills)? looks like the wind would be good for many directions.. unless it is in a big hole.

so sorry to hear that dude. Must have been killing you to be in all that snow and not be able to hit it.

I might be up for another Madison run later in the week. Nothing like deep snow. Weds/thurs/Friday are possibilities.

"any one know how to get an update on fond du lac?... "

Jon,
If you post something on kiteridersllc.com someone should give you an update. I know theres a group of guys in Fond du lac that have their own webpage (Winnebago Association of Kiteboarding) but they dont have the forum up and running.

I talked to Kevin Gratton in Fond Du Lac the other day, they got dumped on (a foot or more new snow) , and I think they got even more last night. WAK (Winnebago Association of Kiteboarding) has a site with some info.

Launch # 6 is right from Don's house on the lake, see more info here.

Also, Don has a pretty sweet weather station right at his house on a 100 ft pole above his house, you can check weather info there anytime.

Hope this helps some.
