Post by Jeff G »

Anyone know where the closest kiteable lake is that has full snow cover? How's Mille? My old knees could use a little cushion beween the board and the hard stuff.

Jeff,

I think Calhoun will have the best base/snowcover, but I think the best wind and party will be at Kite Island. I will be at the Island by noon.

Anybody have a small grill? I'll bring some beers!

Pasha the wonder dog and me will be out at Kite Island today. I need to get some vitamin E from the sun. Get out before it gets too sticky. I might have a small I can bring.

Hope the party was good Jeff -- Mille Lacs was. I launched at Carlsona and kited east half way to Malmo, then west a couple miles past Reddy and found
great powder covering the entire north shore. A magic carpet. Totally different from the south end. Hope it stays this good for the crossing.

Kite Island was a lot of fun. There were at least 20 kites in the air at times. Too bad the wind is changing directions. otherwise I'd head up there tomorrow. Sounds like really nice conditions. Glad to hear you found some good snow.
