Snowkite Rally 08 Photos

Post by jp_photog »

Greetings all,

First off, thanks Denis, Nathan, Hunter and everyone else who was involved in planning and implementing the Snowkite Rally - I didn't make it out for Sunday, but Saturday was great, and I'm grateful to have been invited out. I've been shooting kiting for quite a while now, and although the conditions weren't exactly perfect, I'll still count Saturday as one of my favorites so far.

I want to make a note that I'm especially happy that my big sister Leah was able to get out and rip it up for over an hour on her own. I'm afraid I wasn't a very good brother, though, because I was too busy shooting in the park area, and didn't even know she was cruising around... Sorry Leah, I'll get some photos of you next time!

So, speaking of photos, I'll post a link below to some of my photos from yesterday. For those of you that may not know, photography is what I do for my living, and as such I generally don't give away photos of any type. It's not that I'm trying to be a jerk, but as I'm sure you can understand, giving away your product isn't a really good way to stay in business. I'd like to shop some of these photos around to a few magazines and my stock agency, but after that, I'll enable sales from the gallery so that you can order a print of yourself should you desire. I'm also toying around the idea of putting together a poster from the event, with the proceeds donated to defray whatever costs may remain from the event, and anything beyond that to a yet-to-be-named charity.

Anyway, if you enjoy the photos even a fraction as much as I enjoyed shooting them, I'll be really pleased.

Thanks,
John Pedersen

Great shots John. The photos look great with the kite included.

FYI though it was called the Snowkite Rally not the kite Jam

Hey John!

Thanks for being there and taking all those pics. Um.. great shot of me missing my dismount on the kinker. :p

Given the forecast for Sunday, we decided Saturday night to do the final giveaway and close the event that night, so no worries if you couldn't make it.

Thanks again for the help.

Ack!

Thanks for setting me straight Tighe - I've fixed my mistakes. Also, sorry for the mistake guys!

And Denis, sorry about putting that shot in - I just couldn't resist. I'm pretty sure that landing would have taken me out for the rest of the day, so you've got my respect for keeping riding!

Thanks again,
John.
