A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!!

Post by JRN »

THANKS TO NATE, DENIS,TERRY, HUNTER, & everyone else who put the RALLY together. I had a great time on my 1st trip to Swede & coming from a Norski, that's saying ALOT. Got to ride, watch the kicker action, catch up with the W-side crew, my homies, & best of all...I even got to meet Krazy Katie!! She certainly lived up to her billing, and it was GREAT to see so many women riders tearing it up. Congrats to Caroline Ridout getting her 1st rides on the snow, and the mile-wide grin that goes with it. Hope tomorrow is half as fun. :D Jim N.

I third that :D Great turnout. Enough wind to fly and pop a bit. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Hey Jim, if you want that spreader bar pad I will save it for you.; just let me know. Otherwise nobody really responded so I could send it back but that really doesn't make much sense as $4-7 shipping for a $10 return.
ENJOY :) ........... Bill

It was my first time out to swede and boy was it worth it Great day. As I was driving out there I was starting to think I missed the lake somehow, then I came around that corner and it was the coolist site I've ever seen all those kites in the air everyone cruising all over the place. Had bigtime fun hope to be back sun

Great fun! Nice to meet some new faces, see familiar ones and enjoy the sport together. Enough wind to play all day....perfect.

I believe I lost my wallet so posting to spread the news. There are a few bills and regular wallet stuff (no condoms). Aside from my DL, CC's, etc... I have a pic of my twin girls in it. One of them is on my shoulders in the pic above in the pink. If anyone comes across it give me a holla: 612-296-3201.

I had some family and freinds come out and they were awed. Our kids played most of the day outside and upon leaving one of my girls commented this was wonderful day. Nice to hear from your child.

Thanks for all that put this together. The charred hot dog was even appreciated...oh yeah, thanks for grill'n the brauts and helping feed the masses Avery.

Looking forward to seeing you all out again soon,

Michael

Mike,
I have your wallet. As it was getting dark, Victor (I think) from Madison found it. I'll give you a call.

Yeah a super big thanks for sure. Great to see so many faces that I haven't seen in awhile. The energy of the day was just flowing well. Denis and Nathan started the day of by setting a low key, freeride tone at the riders meeting that just rolled right along.

As the after party was winding down someone looked at their watch and it was only 8:30! Shocker my body felt like it was past midnight. The wind had come back up so Porter, Katie Hunter and I hit kite island and rode till almost 1am. Very nice.

thanks again guys.

I saw the flags moving on my way home last night and wondered who was taking advantage of it. I haven't been out to the island yet this year and happy to see some responses of y'all out there.

Vic...I'm nominating you for the keen eye award for finding my wallet. I'm thinking of a needle in a haystack plaque. I wonder how to design it? My wallet must have flown out from the Triple Lindy off the giant kicker. Uh...wait a second...I don't have the hoodspah to go off that giant. It more than likely fell out doing something more mundane like pulling out my cigar lighter (tisk tisk).

Tighe, on my way over to pick it up in a few. I just made lunch plans at Relax (formerly Yummy) for Dim Sum at 11:30 with my sister. I think the timeline works but let me know if it doesn't.

Yes, thanks to all who organized! I think I got some good footage. I shot mostly around the park, but I think it was a great day for riders of all levels. There were some beginners getting lessons, intermediate folks just cruising around the lake, and the more experienced riders hitting the park. At one point around 2-3pm, I think there were at least 45 kites in the air at once! Pretty sweet. The spectators were having fun too, creating great energy with all of the cheers from the peanut gallery. Too bad the forecast wasn't good enough to continue the event through Sunday. The closing awards ceremony on Saturday night was fun too, pretty much everyone went home with something from the sponsors. The wings were good too!

I drove from Madison up to this event and it was so very worth it. Thank you putting all of the effort into making it happen. This was a great format and I had a ton of fun. I wish I would of had a chance to hang out but I had the wife, borther, kid, etc with me so there was only so much I could subject them too. The big jump was spectaclar and it would be great to hit it with 9m wind! Can you guys just leave those rails and jumps out on the lake? I think the DNR would have our necks if we did that in Madison.

Cheers,

Karl

I forgot to mention that it was not just a MN crowd out there on Saturday. Thanks to Karl and Vic from Madison and the folks from Canada for making the trek! It was great to see you out there. Good job getting the word out, NSK crew!

I also want to thank Nathan and Denis for really putting the event together. It was Nathans idea, and with the help of Denis, it came together really well and I think that we all had a good time.

Also, Adam Hanson deserves a huge thank you because without him and the Egyptian Roller Method, we would not have been able to get the big kicker to the lake or have any snow plowed up.

Finally, I want to thank everybody for coming. Denis and Nathan, as well as the rest of the NSK crew spent a lot of time organizing the event and building the park, but without the support of the community it definitely would not have been the event that it was. I heard that there were over 75 cars in the parking lot, with more on the street and parked out on the lake, we were not expecting this big of a turn out so it was great to see everybody show up.

SO I finally got access to the forums. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making the rally such a great time. Being new to the sport, I wasn't sure what to expect. I met a lot of cool people and had a blast. I definitely got in plenty of riding on Sat. during the day and then we headed to Kite Island on Tonka to catch the winds until about 1am. It was a good day!

Just wanted to give a big thanks to Denis, Nathan, Hunter and Adam and if I am missing anyone I'm sorry. Hunter is right without the help of the community this would not have went off like it did, it would be nice if we could just email on the site here and just suggest a date and place to get a group like this together all the time kind of like the Gathering, we just emailed and everyone came what an event!

Anyhow, thanks again guys for all the hard work I really appreciated it, sorry I couldn't make it to the party aftrewords.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm still quite stoked from the weekend. What a great community we have. What a great and generous effort by Nathan, Denis, Hunter and crew to put on such a great event.

I've looked through the photos again and again... we're so lucky to have such talent coming out and shooting the mayhem... completely pro bono.

thanks thanks thanks...
