Sunrise at Medicine

Post by Kosk »

Planning for a 7am launch from French Park boat landing on the north end of Medicine. Civil twilight is at 7:17am. I think I'll be packed up (foil) and done to head to work by 9am.

(Provided the wind is up like forecasted)

See you there?

French park is like 2 miles from my house, and Q is right down 169, so its a no-brainer. There's no way I'm driving clear across to WB on a work day morning.

See you saturday?

Sounds like a good way to start your day Pete but I'll have to try and meet up another time.

Have a good ride.

Whoa! Really gusty out there this morning!! Too much for my liking. I got yarded about 5 minutes into my session. Huge gust yanked me straight off a hard heelside edge, airborn, and then dragged about 35 yds before I could pull the eject button. Only took a second or two. Happened while I was up and running out in the middle of the lake fortunately and not during launch or landing closer to shore.

Only rode about 30-40 minutes more after that. Too gusty to get relaxed and in a groove, decided to save it for a better day.

Be careful out there, and always wear your helmet.

Now that I live on Medicine Lake (on the south end) I plan on kiting as much as possible there.

I've never been on that lake in winter, any dangerous areas in the ice or any other advice?
