Not much around Rochester...no lakes and the quarries are small and sit in valleys shielded from the wind. If you know someone with land, you might find a snow covered field.

There is one reservoir I've tried a few times on the west side of town, just off 19th street (Kalmar reserve), but it is a long hike in and up a steep hill.

If you find other options, in town, let us know!

Vis, do you live near Rochester or travel there on a regular basis? There's some fun stuff over here in Lake City.

Wouldn't somewhere up by the high school be good as that's up high above Quarry Hill. I don't know how much more development went in around it in the last 5 years.
