N NE Flow Saturday up in Duluth????
Near shore is calling for NE 10-15 knots Sat/Sat Night. Maybe if we get a little more squeeze we can have a repeat of Monday but this time it's over the weekend. Could it be? Is it possible? Anyone have any thoughts?
I think it's possible that it might go off Saturday but the forecast isn't looking too promising. I'd love to be there but I have to work (college is expesive).
I did get out Thursday on Fish Lake though and was in the Bay on Monday. There were five of us in the Bay in the afternoon sailing in the dying wind.
I don't quite have the guts to sail the big lake yet but I'd love to try.

Once again, it's a ways out but I'm hopeful. The wife & kid are heading to Madison, WI for the weekend so I'm going if it happens!

Sunday looks like it could be a good day. Hopefully it will still be blowing at 5 PM. Fishermen and windsurfers, the two most optimistic groups of people in the world.
By the way, I sailed off Barker's Island in the gusty SW winds today. 9.6 is a little bit big for 20+ mph gusts but still manageable. At least it was until I got slammed into the drink.

I was just in Duluth with the kids and it looked like 15-20 knots out of the north northeast, nice swells and breaking waves. I stopped at Park Point to see if anyone was sailing. Its still a little beyond my reach but I thought I might get stoked watching for a bit. I didn't see any sails or kites, is there another spot people sail out of Duluth or was I too early at 11:00?
I sail off of Barker's Island for the flatter water.
Bob McGreavy started sailing around noon, my dad started around 3:00 and I didn't get on the water until 5:30.

I was nicely powered on a 7.4 and enjoyed sailing until the sun set.
Edit: I forgot to add that there were 2 other sailors that launched from Minnesota Point near the beach house and sailed the bay as well.
