Windsurfing-Olympic Trials Communique'
Seldom in the course of Minesota history(and the USWA-North Central Region) has the windsurfing community had the opportunity to watch a native daughter participate in The United States Olympic trials.
Hence, I've been trying to track down Worthington windsurfer Lisa Kremer. Her previously known location (last week) was a world class sailing regatta in Great Britain. Insiders say she was known to be hanging out with the gold medalist from the last Olympics. The reason for her attending this event was to put a final polish on her sailing skills before this week long final Olympic trial in California.
Racing starts this Saturday at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club-U.S. Sailing Center, Long Beach CA. and daily race results can be found at this website.

Look for; " RSX Class" 7 men and 6 women have qualified to compete for the title of representing the United States in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.
Opening ceremony is Friday and racing begins this Saturday Oct. 6th with awards on the following Sunday Oct. 14.
As I scan the registration list I see various "Big Name Yacht Clubs" throughout the U.S. that endorse and sponsor these various individuals. Scanning further... I'm heartened to see the name Lisa Kremer (no "yacht club" behind her name) just....."Worthington Okabena Windsurfers"- Worthington Minnesota.
Countless hours and resource has been spent, sailors in our region have helped foster her confidence, her abilities and spirit, it is surely appreciated by Lisa and her family.
Seize the moment to acknowledge her endeavors-Windsurfers throughout the midwest and entire windsurfing community salute Lisa Kremer for her Olympic Quest and wish her good winds and the best of luck!

I think you will see some changes in the rankings after tomorrows racing. It looks like they get one throw out after 8 races, and another throw out after 17 races. Which means on the mens side, Ben Barger will probably change from 2nd to 1st when he can throw out his RAF 8 point finish, and Gebi will probably be in 2nd.
The women are very close and will probably stay that way.
Keep them all behind you Lisa! Way to go.
