Blaine Soccer Fields

Post by Denis »

With the current conditions being what they are, I am trying to get into land kiting. I got a killer deal today on a mountain board. $150.00 at Zumiez, Mall of America (They still have 2 more). I actually bought mine at Galyan's with the 110% price match. :D Ask for the "MBS SOL16".

Feeling pretty good about myself, I headed straight to the Blaine Soccer Fields to try the board out. The northern fields were completely empty, besides me and I was having a great time. Suddenly, 2 cop cars show up along with a guy in a golf cart. Having already been threatened of deportation once this year, I tried to be as courteous as possible. Don't want to appear too often on Tom Ridge's radar. :? Turns out that an organization is renting the fields for soccer for the summer and doesn't want to see anyone else on there. But, they pointed me to the sod fields just NE of the soccer grids where I could kite to my heart's content.

Apparently, they already gave a warning to some kiters, that's why the police got involved this time. So, I would recommend that we stay off those fields for now. We don't want any bad press for kites.

Check out those boards! That's a 50% mark down.

The sod fields are on the same plot of land as the soccer fields. If you go to the North set of fields, you can keep walking to the NE corner where they are doing some contruction right now. There are 3 fields each about 2 soccer fields wide that you can kite on. Careful about the sand pits. They are a brutal stopper and causes for crashes.

Have fun!
