So I might have a legitimate chance on actually being able to go!!! When does everyone go in the fall or does everyone wait for the spring?

I have been there both around Halloween & Thanksgiving and have not been skunked yet. Looks like Rob & Heather are heading down mid Nov. They are fun to share the beach & evening meals with..we enjoyed their company last year. It's alot more fun with some other "HOMEYS" around. You can usually count on Diane & Judd, as well as the Blaines being there. There's also a contingent of Calhoun Windsurfers there every year, too. Maybe we could coordinate a MN invasion and own the place for a week!! Keep me posted...

I have already submitted a requested for vacation from the 9 thru the 25 of November. SWEET! It’s a fun trip, don’t miss it.

I'll be bringing a group down the last few weeks of November. Hope others can arrange to be down the same time. Anyone is allowed to join us to share transportation and logding costs.

How do most of you guys travel, drive down there or do you fly and then rent a van and split the cost's? Where does everyone usually stay?

I think there is no norm. Some drive down, some fly. Some get condos, some get hotels, some sleep on the beach.

For the trip we put together, we fly down with SunCountry, get as many vehicles as we need, either mini vans or SUVs, and then stay at the LaQuinta Hotel, right on the the ocean side. Decent breakfast, shower right on the beach which is great for downwinders.

Not sure if you're looking to do the group thing or do it solo. Don't feel you'll be out there hanging if you do it solo. There are so many people down there, and there are only a few main places to ride, that you'll see everyone everyday anyway.

Would love to have you along if you want to join our group.

We usually have 2-4 in our group. Haven't even begun advertising it yet so who knows how many this time.

There are usually quite a few others down there as well. Nancy Blaine, Heather Robsgirl, Dianne Nelson, etc.

I am planning to be down there Wed Nov 21 (evening) and leaving Sunday Nov 25. I can't muster up any more time off so far with work, class, teaching, etc

It should be a blast! I can't wait!!

I'm pretty sure I'm in 100% this year, where does everyone stay, do you all fly which is what I'll be doing, where do you fly into, do you all pool to rent a car? I would take in a roommate while I'm down there to share a room but absolutely NObody that snores I just can't take that or super late night partyers i'm old and need to sleep, bedtime for me is midnight or 1am the latest. So if anyone is interested in splitting a room while we are down there let me know.

Found tickets for $259.30 going into Harligen Texas today for 11-20 coming back 11-27, pretty good times during the day to! Or here's a thought, rent a big van split the gas between 4 or five people + gear?

I suspect you're pretty focused on planning for the crossing, but I was wondering when you expect to have firm dates and prices for the Padre trip.

The dates I'm leaning toward is the week after Thanksgiving for the scheduled trip: Nov. 23-Dec 2nd

I'll most likely be down there the week of Thanksgiving as well with Sophia and Julie.

I should have costs together by the end of August, but I'm still trying to get a full head count. It's a bit far off for most.
