Board Question
Would a 138cm Crazyfly Allround be too short for me? I got offered a little bit of a deal on it and I just want to get a second opinion before making a decision. I'm about 170lbs and I'll just be getting started on the water, though I was snowkiting all winter. Right now my only water kite is a 15m bow, if that helps.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks.

138 Crazy Fly
Are you sure you're only 170lbs??? I've seen you in pink wetsuit and I think you're pushing 3bills anyway. I think if you have two 138 boards, one for each leg, then it be okay

Brian. What width is this board? It would probably work well for an all- around board if it is 40cm or better. That being said:
I've been telling everyone how much I like my 145x48. I'm riding this board more than my 132x44 with seemingly no loss in performance. I can pop, boost, jump, roll, ride toeside, etc just as well. It plans super soon, keeps going in the lulls and you don't notice the wideness when edging hard when the wind is up. Heavily endorsing this big board for everyone. I've been able to dramatically increase the range of my 13m pro with it. Larry at the Scuba Center is taking orders always.

Test Drive?
How about trading a test drive on my new "STRAPLESS" for twice around the block on your "MEGA C-FLY?"
I still LOVE my SX 151, but want to know what I'm missing! Jim N.

The all around 138x40 Crazy Fly would be a great size. I have not been on that exact board yet ride a 137x44 and a 125x41 Crazy Fly which you are free to try when you find me at WBL.
With the 15m kite you will be able to get out in little wind and still hold down an edge when it picks up.
I used to be big into what kite I ride now I am more into boards since Crazy Fly has come along.

I used to ride a 125 best drive, then this year I broke down and ordered a spleene rip 138. It's great. I think the little boards are a thing of the past with these really nible, light, flexy boards. I get way more speed and pop out of the spleene, and much easier landings. It goes up wind great in anything over 12 MPH, and rides super smooth. Sounds like the crazy fly your looking at is very similar. Should be a good choice. Have fun on the water.

I hate to disagree with the crowd above but...I might suggest going longer or wider than 138 x40. All the comments above are from experienced riders. While you may end up with a board that size, starting with a board that short and somewhat narrow may hinder your learning process. I have found that many students who jump too small too soon, end up working on the basics for a long time.
Conditionals to the above recommendation:
If you wakeboard
If you were riding very powered up with the Inflatable on a snowboard last winter.
You're an experienced snowboarder
If any of the above are true you'll most likely be fine with the board you're looking at. Otherwise I would suggest starting a bit longer or a bit wider board.
my 2 cents

The Crazyfly sounds like a fun size for a guy at 170. Its nice to have board options. at 210 my favorite board is Nobile 132, however it only comes out when I know Im going to be well powered and consistant power. I found the board builds speed so well that it makes up for being small, and is allot more agile and fun to jump. However if its a day with lulls I prefer riding the bigger boards to keep me going when the wind shuts off.
