I think I will have to politely disagree with you Steve. Only on the point that most would prefer light to no bar pressure. When I first got the Links, I was so stoked on them before I flew them. When they first came out they were set up with minimal bar pressure. I flew and flew them and just couldn't like them with such light bar pressure. Then Nathan figured out how to tune them to get a more locked in feel with a bit of bar pressure....then I loved them.
Maybe it's my background in windsurfing, or just my style, but I think I will always want a good direct feel what the kite is doing. I know others like having no bar pressure, but I don't think I'll ever be one.
The other thing that I've been seeing quite a bit of with these minimal bar pressure kites, is newbees taking a lot longer to figure out when the kite is flying correctly. We saw it this weekend and I've seen it before. I think some bar pressure helps this emensely.
Again, for anyone interested in a new kite. Take advantage of the different team riders offer to try these new kites. They each feel different, relaunch different, handle gusts different, on and on.... It's not a difference of good or bad kites anymore. It's a matter of what kite is the best for you...and only you know that.

I agree Tighe. As I said "most of us would come to prefer it" In the realm of kite trends Lighter preassure is one of the most requested "features". I would guess some companies will still have more preassure. But most of the kite released this year emphasise light bars. Maybe the trend will change, for myself I'm on board.

For those reading this and thinking that you really would like light bar pressure. Do yourself a favor and check out the Ozone Instinct. They provide the least bar pressure of all the kites I have ever flown. Take as long a session as you can get Steve to give it to you for, so that you can get used to it.
