Post by davec »

iwindsurf is showing some wind from a westerly direction saturday. The other forcasts don't look so good but if it comes up I'll probably head to washington, fingers crossed.

Yeah, now weather.com is showing 10-15mph for Waconia, and Washington for Sat so could be good. I think i'd like to do Washington since it's shallow enough to stand in the sportsman club area.

are you serious? That's like bath water :) Seriously not bad at all though. Probably quite a bit colder a few feet down though.

Would a 5/3 wetsuit work with those temps?

This is how I tested my wetsuits for how much cold I could take.....put the suit on, jump in the water with a life jacket on, take a swim out, tread water, swim back in. If I was still fine, it was good. I am a windsurfer though, so even if you break down you still have something to paddle in on, kiting is a great deal different. I have always thought that it was a personal thing though. Some people live in their drysuits untill june, others are rockin in Shorties at first chance.

and it was nice to see you on the Morc forum as well. :D

Thanks Ben, The wind forecast doesn't look that great this morning though. Weather Service only has 5 to 8 mph. Probably just wait to hit the water when I get back from Fruita now. Should be warm enough then.
