Mille Lacs is a Sure Thing Saturday!

Just Kidding. I am not that naive. But I am tempted. Any others? I had one of my best kiting sessions ever on a S wind up there last year. No need to remind me that I swore off Mille Lacs a couple of weeks ago. The crowds on metro lakes are forcing me out of town. :)

Did anyone venture north? If so, how was it? Jim? Pete? Terry?

We windsurfed @ Malmo, but heard there were kiters and boarders all over. About 4 beginners paying their dues @ Malmo on kites. Saw more advanced guys further out, but didn't recognize them. Slight shadow close-in, but filled in nicely on-out...Typical Mn. gustiness, we rigged 7.5's on Technos and were fine, but wanted to be on smaller stuff in the gusts and chop...Was bouncy going out on a reach, but a blast running the troughs coming in...Good time all in all....At least we weren't skunked!!! :D

Jim:

It's great to know it can blow at Mille Lacs on S wind. A couple years ago I experienced a S 15-20 day and it was the sweetest thing. Those rollers are so nice on the north shore.

It sounds like the wind was 15-25 if you were wishing you had a smaller sail and board.

Let me know if your heading up there again.
