Calhoun conditions?? ICe/snow???

Post by stevenP »

I was planning on heading to Calhoun this afternoon. Has anybody checked out the surface since the last few warm days and subsequent freezing? Is it more ice or more snow? I am deciding which to take, a kite with skis or an ice board which needs pretty clear ice and little or no snow. Any reports?

Thanks,
sPk

I haven't been out kiting...but I drive by it just about everyday for work, and the last couple days, it is pretty much a shiny layer of ice with a few blobs of snow here and there. I saw one of those ice boats out there yesterday doing some sailing. I would say its not good for kiting, unless you are on ice skates or something. Might want to wait until after the big storm. It didn't look ideal---at least from my eyes.
