WBL in the morning? (Friday)

Post by pete168 »

Is anybody planning on hitting WBL in the am?
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,totally worn out and loudly proclaiming. WOW! What a ride!!

Made it out there this morning from 9:30-11:30. Winds could have been a little stronger, but wasa still kiteable. If you hit mahtomedi, watch out for the beer bottles frozen in the ice!

Yeah, what's up with all the trash on the ice!!! I swear everytime I kite I'm picking up glass and plastic bottles and cans.

At the expense of stereotyping, I've noticed that WBL has sorta become a outing destination for a lot of inner city folks over the past several years. I've seen some rough crowds on ramsey beach in the summer lately. Didn't use to be like that back in the day of windsurfing. Maybe I'm wrong

Personally I prefer the "beautiful people" that comprise the high summer crowd at the Wack. There are more tatoos and piercings per capita than a punk rock show! Last summer some really really drunk guy almost puked on my sail. Awesome! :D

It's all abut the $'s! Cost of a fishing boat? LOTS! Ice shack/ Tent/ Sitting on a pickle bucket? Not ALOT! The look on Kurt's face when he uses a Miller "40" bottle as a kicker? PRICELESS!! Besides, in the summer all that crap just sinks to the bottom! You're welcome to retrieve that stuff & put it in my sled whenever I'm out. Note: No frozen "Dog Rockets" please!!!!!!!! JN
