Doug, the ice is safe on the large area that froze about 9 days ago. It should have enough snow cover after yesterday. There is a transition area on the north side between the old ice and the new ice about 50 yards off shore. There is a 20'-40' wide area where pieces of broken ice have frozen side ways and the sharp points stick up through the snow. Nasty area, would not want to fall there or drop a kite on it. I didn't check any of the other sides, but it is possible the same condidions exist around the entire lake. Hope to see you out there.
thanks for the info dean. last night i went with nokomis for a beautiful 2
hour sunset sesh. on my 17.5 machine. then the lights for the rink came
on and it was a little more light to see by.
