White Bear was awsome
There were a bunch of ice boats, two freeskates, and a half a dozen kites at ramsey today. The ice is in great shape, hopefully we get a breeze tomorrow.

Ice thickness
Pete and I traversed most of the northern arm of WBL as did most of the ice boats. I'd guess the ice to be 4.5" thick on the average. It was great fun on the freeskates. Radke was blazing on his Flexi & skates. Later Joe L. & his crew came out & rode 'til past dark. The ice turned golden as the Sun dropped. Only neg: wind blown sand on the ice takes the edge off your blades rapido.
JN P.S: Tell me it won't blow on Sun, need recuperation!

Jason--
Remember me, Dave, from wbl/Ramsey? We discussed Sabres last summer. Well, I finally busted mine out. Second time out, my friend frickin skates over my lines. Just wondering if you have any tips on getting some cheap replacements, I think I only need two. Also we should get out at the same time so you can try the 9.5 and I can try your 11.5. I have to say I'm getting used to it and it's a pretty damn fine kite.

Green Bomb?
Ice Man: Call Larry @ Scuba Center. Last year he gave me a "deal " on a whole spool of Q-line, "bomb-proof" line. He also sells it by the yard. JN
