Rob, I've stayed at that LaQuinta. It's almost right across the road from the South flats. Get a room up on the 2nd floor or higher on the North side and you can see the flats pretty good. Bring some binoculars and you can check the conditions right form your balconey. Free broadband too. Pool & beach on the gulf side. You'll probably be sailing North flats, just up the road, but it's nice to get a first hand view of wind conditions right out the window.

I'll be down the week of Thanksgiving, too! Pete, & a van load of windsurfers are driving down for a 2 week stay. Don't forget to pay Jibber
your $20 access fee, so they can keep the Flats open & maintained! Keep
your sticker and use it again next spring, & it looks super kool on your windshield! Can't wait homeys! See you at Fajita Nite @ Louies. :D JN

Kathy and I will be there 11/17--11/27. Anna and Eric are joining us over Thanksgiving weekend. Are any of you ex-windsurfers turned kiters bringing windsurfing gear?

Terry....sun country won't let us put the windsurfers in the overhead, so kite only.
Dean got some photos showing the flats have been flooding this fall, so that wonderful slippery mud is there. Hopefully it will have dried out again by the time we get there.

MUD RIDERS!

Post by JRN »

Lose the fins & ride the mud! JN P.S: No pole boards 4 me this time. Phillip loves renting out his SAXO, though! We can drag race with Kunkle (reigning "Kahuna of the Laguna").

Something tells me this is going to be a gas, we have to do a trip accross the border one night, get Jeff and Patti Hoxtel to come along, they're great company for a silly session.

Steve the last time you had a silly session with Jeff and Patti across the boarder, Nancy and you we're a little heavy headed the next day. Jeff and Patti know how to show a good time, thats for sure.

Little heavy headed......I can't remember the last time we were out till 3 am.....nearly hurt me as much as the kite crossing hurt Tighe.
We'd parked the van at Jeffs shop, the condo was 1/2 a mile away, 3am we're stood there discussing whether we dare risk driving the half mile, there's no one any where. We decide NO we'll walk, turn around and there's a cop car, bugger was just waiting for us, we walked
Very amusing night , Jeff and Patti are great fun, we also had Joe ( the cuban) and eileen from N.J. with us, they're trouble too.
