Kiting in Fargo this winter: Sponsored by red bull..?

Post by Protege Menace »

Is anyone else going to be kiting this winter in the Fargo area? I am going to school up here and hope to get out a lot and think it would be cool to get a group going up here.

There was a redbull rep up here tonight who brought free redbull to our schools first formula SAE race car meeting and said hes looking for other extreme/cool sports to have redbull help out with free drinks and possibly sponsorship. I told him about kiting and he seemed pumped about the sport.

Does anyone know if theres anyone up here besides me?

Get ahold of Eric Byers. I think he's up in that area or Grand Forks. He hosts http://snowkiting.com. Super stoked guy spreading the word up there.

good luck

My brother and I grew up just south of Fargo and go home to kite a bunch in the winter. My parents live across the road from a bunch of farm fields we ride all the time. Would love to get some other guys out there. Pently of room not a lot of terrain:wink:

Josh and I should be around fargo this winter to visit the folks. I am here now until I get a job. (Which should be hopefully soon in the brainerd area).

Post on here when you going to head out. If I am around fargo I will join you. I can see the fargo area taking off!

Around here there is a nice diversion ditch that is fun to play around in... and some good fields in the area. You can kite for miles around here...

For those winter days when we don't quite have enough snow on the ground but the lakes are frozen... We have gone here... It is fun during the summer too. The road completly goes around all sides of the lake.

Fields lots of fields... I am sure there are some great areas if you head out of town in any direction. Good Luck!
