long-term prospect for wind?

Post by Coach »

Had a nice session on the Bear today. A few members of the wind tribe showed up.

What's the prospect of wind look like towards the Worthington weekend? More than 3 days out and I have a hard time reading the bones and tea leaves.

10 day MRF has some decent isobars on Friday and Saturday. If anyone is deciding on Worthington based upon the forecasts, give it up. Every year the forecasts have been wrong, usually in favor of higher than forecast winds. And as many of us have said before it's not about the wind. I'm looking forward to hanging out with everyone. As in life, all the rest is a bonus.

It definitly looks like there will be some wind. My only problem is Saturday. It looks like it might line up on the big lake and it's been soooo looong since I've been there.

Tighe - I'm not trying to decide whether or not to go, just whether or not to kite or windsurf. :-) I only have so much room in my little car. If it looks to be on the lighter side, I'll probably windsurf the whole time. The smallest sail I have is a 10.7!

Of course, for formula racing a 10.7 takes me to at least 20 knots...

as they say when in Rome...I'd bring your windsurfing gear.

Ditch the pocket rocket dude and bring the van. Then you can have it all.

looking forward to a great weekend
