Cannon Today!

Post by Coach »

That was a sweet MN opener.

I pulled up to Cannon at 1:15 to see Tighe and a windsurfer out, and headed for "the hook" launch up the south side. As I rigged, I was wondering why in the hell I was putting on a black neoprene wetsuit, gloves, booties, and hood while it was 70 degrees out. Thank god I didn't use the drysuit!

The water was refreshingly cool in all that rubber as I jumped in with my 14m Aero. I had just enough time for a 1 hour super-sesh, so I hit it hard in the smooth and steady wind - with the only downside being that I kept launching out of my footstraps on front rolls because I hadn't made them big enough for my booties to slide all the way into.

The wind was coming through in waves - up for a bit then down for a bit. There was planing either way and it was steady wind during each surge.

Tighe was pulling some nice airs, and the windsurfers were cruising smoothly the whole time. That was the perfect way to start my MN season.

After a quick change and drive by the beach to say high to Larry, Bill, Chris, and Tighe, it was off to the office just in time for a meeting. Nobody was the wiser, except perhaps the foul odor of wet neoprene in the air.

That is sweet, a good sesh before work! It must make being there that much better. It would be nice if once a week even, the fun could come first. So fortunate you are. ride on

yeah what a great opener. Warm wind, very cool water, and lots of sun. Coach was skying high upwind. The windsurfers who rigged big had a great time.

I had the best time on the new 13m Fuel. When the water is that cold it is nice to have something that does exactly what you want it to. I love that kite.

It seems like the hanging out gets shorter and shorter each year. One or more of us always seems to have something stacked up against the session. It is part of the experience for me....the hanging, catching up, BSin' etc. Looking forward to riding til the sun drops and hanging in the color.
