today rocked on mile lacs. solid 16m session. I rode my 19.5 and for about 30min and just couldn't hold it down. so I switched to my 16 and and a 125. easy 1080 day
Eric and I will be rideing at Carlsona tomorow (about 1 mile past reddy creek)
the forecast looks great for tomorow 15-25 straight south
I wore a 4/3 wetsuite and no booties or gloves today and I was warm. along the sand bar the water temp is arround 60. it was much warmer than waconia.
I am thinking about getting my first bordie session tomorow.
Great to see everyone at the swap today. Stroh, I won't be able to make it to m. lacs tomorrow but I can't wait to ride up there! Like I mentioned to you today ... I may some time off from work this summer and would like to do some exploring on m. lacs, superior, etc.
Anyone heading to WBL tomorrow if the wind blows S? It's not quite as good as a SE but it would be ok for a quick session. I'll be at Ramsey if the wind is blowing S. Should be there around 11am.
stroh/eric/denis- 45 minutes with the help of the roomie and the bar was untangled! i think it looked a lot worse than it was, i was expecting at least 2 hours....
im done with school after wed. if its blowin, im spending the rest of my weekend at mille lacs
I went to WBL yesterday for awhile. Wind was shifting from S to SW so it wasn't the greatest. But I got wet and a few rides.
I also put a nice deep cut on my toe from a mysterious object in the sand at Ramsey. Walking on my foot is extremely difficult so no kiteboarding (and walking) for awhile . It felt like glass ... maybe an old bottle. I didn't find the object so be careful.
After cutting my foot on a broken mast several years ago, I decided to always wear booties. I would advise everyone to do the same. You never know what is down there.
great weekend on milly I was fully powered both days.
sunday was lighter but I was able to ride a 100cm board with a 19.5 for some of the time. I was the first to go out on sunday we were sitting on the side of the lake waiting for the wind to show up but litle did we know it was already there it we just up high..... short story long. .. we had a flat water session at reddy creek with waves no bigger than a few inches and no caps in sight.
so im plannin on headin up on thurs (maybe stayin all weekend)... i've got a buddy who used to windsurf, but no longer has any equipment of his own. does anyone know of anywhere/anyone he can rent a windsurfer for thurs? and i think he needs a drysuit too...
Tyson - I've got an old windsurf rig in my garage. If he really wants to try it he can go ahead. Hell, I'll even get the stuff organized for him so he can set it up, just to see it out on the water again. Its vintage 87 gear so don't expect to be too impressed, but it does work. I didn't even get it out last year (except for Worthington). To much kiting. I also have an old wet suit he could borrow, it should be warm enough by next weekend for that.
It looks like rain all week, but hopefully it clears off for the weekend. I fell the need to get out again . I don't have any plans for the weekend yet so your more than welcome to come over. Maybe you can teach me some of those wakeboard moves. Give me a call (320) 684-2055.
