Ozone Instinct

Post by Windzup »

YO YO!!, Finally received some promo material on Ozone's new Surfkite, the Instinct. It is an innovative new design incorporating the positive features of all designs, with a flat shape, inflatable tubes, and 5 direct lines that control the kites trim. More on all that later.......

Check out this link for a short video from Egypt:
http://www.mushow.cz/foto/instinct.avi you may need to upload a Divx codec toplay the vid.

The latest pics and info are available here:

Drop me a line if anyone has any questions on the new wing, I am expecting my first batch as soon as next week, so I will post more once I've flown it myself.

Hey Steve,
As you may have seen, many kite mfg's rushed to market with a 4-line "bow" type of kite, mostly copying similar design concepts.

Ozone tested every option early on, learning the benefits and down falls of every style. They found that the rainbow style bridle , while allowing early flat kite designs to perform adequately, also allowed several negative features, like inverting.

By using a 5 line configuration, Ozone was able to adapt the benefits of a flat kite design, with the feel ofa 'C-kite', and the advantage of Ozone's 2:1trim system which lets the center 5th line change the kites shape and profile independently of the sheeting on the chicken loop. The 5th line is totally different from previous 5 lines...it is fixed and not used as a safety line.

It gives the solid bar pressure feel that we are all looking for, because the 5th line is fixed along with all the other lines, so everyhting moves in synchronicity.

I hope that helps answer your question, I've only had a limited session on the new wings myself, and I'm looking forward for many more this summer.
