Conditions Tuesday?

Post by Julia »

Has anyone been out this morning? I am thinking of trying to get out this afternoon, but I don't want to contend with the slush. Any chance it froze up overnight?

I'm itchin' to get out. Winds looks really marginal, though.

I'm wondering how Excelsior park or Crescent bay are looking.

Anyone?

I drove out to Tonka and walked out onto the lake in Wayzata. It was very soft and slushy, but seemed ridable. However, the wind had pretty much died so I decided not to try and fly.
I had to run an errand out in Delano and was drooling at all the farm fields I passed, just sitting there waiting to see fresh tracks. Anyone own some land?

I was out on Calhoun yesterday. Most of the slush froze into ice. Surface: 1/3 ice, 2/3 snow covered (1" to 2"). Some of the snow covered areas hadn't totally refroze, the footprints were wet but I didn't sink in at all. Wind was good (for Calhoun). Boosting 3-4 footers with the a slingshot B5 (easy on the knee). I was out from 11:30 to 2:30. One other kiter (Bruce ?) was out on his lunch break with a 5m Ozone Access.
