Spring Trip

So, I know this might seem like the last thing on everyone's mind with snowkiting season just getting going, but down here in Des Moines it has been in the 40's with no snow to speak of. All I can think about is getting to some warm water and warm wind......
So I started thinking about where to go this spring for a trip. I generally have to plan way ahead with my schedule so I am looking at going somewhere in late March to Early April.
Any suggestions?
Ryan and I are trying to find somewhere together to go and we thought there might be a group of you Minnesotan's heading somewhere that might not mind a couple Iowan's tagging along....we're pretty clean:)
We were looking at Cozumel, PR, Key West, Padre....
We are pretty open and are just looking to get out and ride for 4-5 days.
If anyone has any plans on a place to go, we would love to join in on some plans.

That is a great time for S. Padre Island. Really good chance for winds. I'll either be down there riding or with a field trip down there most likely around the same time. Unfortunately I won't schedule it til the end of Feb or into March.

Don't know much about the other spots you mentioned. I've heard they can be sweet riding.

Steve B and I are planning on being there the first week in April. If I could get some people rallied up we could rent a Beach house. Scott give me a call some time I was hoping you would be able to make it.

You talking to me?? If so I will check my vacation time out to see what I have. Caroline and I are going to Puerto Vallarta Mexico from March 10th through the 19th, but if you guys want to go somewhere in mid april like padre or some other place and rent a beach house I would definately like to go, it could be cheap too if we split the cost of the house and maybe a big van or something? I'll check and get back to ya all.

I'd be in as well. Want to get a kick start to the water season. That and I'm already itchin to get back out on the wet stuff. If you guys need another body, count me in.

I'm totally biased, but I'd suggest Margarita Venezula! For the short trip, 4-5 days, it might not be worth the required travel time to get there, but the wind stats are the best I've seen! Plenty of days 25+ MPH, and lovely local beach action! Always 20-30 fantastic sailors out, and plenty of pros to rub elbows with!

I'll be there from late Feb. thru early April, and I know of at least a few other MN folks that plan to make the trip during my stay. Always fun to have more folks to share in the wind and moving mogul field of bump and jump! And Prices are still darn cheap!
