Off road rollerblades During the summer?????

Post by Hunter Welles »

Hey everybody I am in florida and my uncle one of charlie leekley friends has a pair of off road rollerblades. I have been using them and I am planing on using them a places like BMX tracks but I also thought on an open feild or something the could be some great fun kiting. I just am wondering if that would be a cool idea nad if there is anybody with a foot around size 9 they could maybe try it this summer.

I got a pair of Rollerblade Coyotes last year. They work excellent with a kite.

I've been watching ebay, if you time it right you can pick them up for under $100. I should have bought them last fall... now they are higher.

i picked up a pair of Coyotes at a 'play it again'. seems folks purchased them for off-road skating when they first came out, but their 7lb weight really doesnt make them very 'skatable'. however, they do roll with ease over the land/street crud on a downhill or under the power of a dog. i gave them a brief shot on a grass field last summer using my B3, but there wasnt enough pull power in the kite to manage rolling the wheels on the ungroomed ground. i didnt get an opportunity to try them, but i have read here that in a parking lot they rip under kite power.

off road rollerblades during the summer

I had a hard time finding the rollerblades on ebay. I did talk to distributor and he the coyote rollerblades were discontinued about two years ago. It is extremely hard to the right sizes, especially in 11 or 12s. Try this web site http://www.allwebtoys.com and then look under inline skates. I spoke with the manufacture and he said they are extremely durable. I am thinking about the Rangers.

Hey jim there is some size 11 rollerblades on ebay right now. They are only like 80 or 90 bucks but there still is another day of auction. Maybe you should check them out.

Don't you guys remember when I tried to take those crazy skates out?

For a skier like Emily, peice of cake. For a boarder like me.. keep your legs together or it hurts!

I have a pair of gateskates and they are adjustable and you can wear the shoes of your choice.

Ya but the gates skate are way more expensive than 200$ canadian, wich makes only how much in euro? not that much i guess, also less in US dollars.

They are size 10 Us or 44 euro.

I live in Montréal Canada. I can send them by UPS, paiement on paypal only.

tks

Hey Arron, from discussions in the past you have a nice field to landboard on right, what are you up to this weekend? I'd like to get out and try my landboard, see how bad I can wipe my self out, I have all the pads and stuff so I should be O.K. Let me know if you are available this weekend?

Scott.

Unfortunatly I have to work this weekend, but that's still not a good reason for you not to get out on that landboard! Landboarding is cool man! Slap all the pads on and head out to a soccor field. That's what I use. The one I kite on is just off the Banning Exit on I-35. 3 miles north of Sandstone. There is a dangerous light pole smack dab in the middle of the field though that you have to sine your kite over. After a while it become instinct and it's not a problem when you're near it.

I'm in the process of trying to get permission from the local sod farmer for MNKiting members hopefully using the pitch that we'd pay 5 bucks a session and I'll promote his business for him somehow. That would be soooo awesome. BUttery smooth huge open fields. Ahh.. Then all this spring transition stuff would be a welcome time! Also working on the city of sandstone. They have huge rolling hills over by their hatchery that make my mouth water.

If you want to get out and try buggying, send Emily an email at esaude@mnkiting.com and she'll take you out in our Flexi buggy this weekend at a local farmers field. That buggy can plow through bumps and pot holes that would send you flying on a land board. Wear goggles because the mud will be flying! Good times!

here's another clip of what the banning soccor field looks like in the spring time. This was last year when we did some landboarding there. Have fun man and take some pics! What kind of board do you have?
