ice thickness at waconia
I WENT down to waconia yesterday to check conditions, water and slush on top of 2 1/2 feet of ice!!!! I actually stuck my arm down an ice fishing hole and couldnt reach the bottom of the ice, so it is still safe but could be turning rotten in these hot recent days.

Spring Lake (on the South end of Prior Lake)
Spring Lake had 2 feet of ice on Sunday March 16th. Four inches and all the snow(the the slush and top water) disappeared in the last week. The west end had a sky blue carribbean color. The ice is going fast
I'll start
getting leary next week and be thinking about getting that dry suit on my list.

Was totally amazed about Voitja & co. kiting in the moonlite, but not surprised...Drove by Mille Lacs today on to Brainerd... No snow but the ice looked skateable sailable kiteable... Maybe an alternative if our metro ponds continue in slush mode..North to ice or South for dat dere Iowegian H2O!!! Does it get any better?
