Anyone windsurf Lake Shetek north of Slayton?
We used to be the only ones surfing on it as kids. huge winds.
Is Okebena comparable?

No, not swampy. 8-10' deep. warm water. Actually a very windy lake.
two big main bodies of water with steady winds blowing off bufffalo ridge to the west. waterskiers on non windy days tuck into the bays.
lower lake runs sw to ne with great wind. training there pre-wgtn event.
a lot of private homes with a couple of good beaches to launch from.
worth the trip. definitely a well kept secret.
