John, dude...... you're sick.
DOn't rush, enjoy the water. Come spring you'll be jonesing for the lakes to open up.
Just pray we go from soft water to hard water quick!
If you guys are coming up to North Dakota, make your way to Grand Forks and crash at my place. Just give me a call: 218-791-3544. Winds are predicted at 20-35 mph!
5-10 feets a little much, at that point, it just makes it realy hard to drive to the kitespot. But I think I could handle a nice 3 or 4 feet, and then I get a snowday too!
... and still raining. Checking the forcast, it doesn't look like there will be more than an inch here (Grand Forks) tomorrow. If anyone is really desperate for snow, I know they're getting dumped on in Western North Dakota. I'm tempted to drive out there tomorrow afternoon. If you don't mind a ton of driving, shoot me an email: ericflynb@hotmail.com
Alright, for all you anxious to hit the snow, Gand Forks (where I'm at) got 1 inch... not much....
But it was enough to pop the snowkiting cherry. Very early this morning, a friend and I used a 1.1 meter windwing in 30-45 kt winds. The best part was trying to control little kite as it zipped. I went out later with a 3.6 meter and got a nice constant pull in less wind. The two sessions were a blast!
I'm rounding up a crew to drive West on Highway 2 (Northern North Dakota). Depending on time, we may also consider Dickenson. We'll be leaving after 2:30 PM. If you give me a call, we can meet or let you know where we're riding. 218-791-3544.
