Mille Lacs/ Wind?

Post by alf »

Any calls on the wind for the crossing this weekend. Checked NOAA and other weather sites which are showing 15mph on fri and >10mph sat/sun. Any other forcasts to consider? It's a long drive from Des Moines if there is no wind.

Scott,
Will you be going up on Friday? Ryan, Ulf and I are heading up there tonight. We may have to pitt stop in Minneapolis, but we will be in Mille Lacs by Friday morning.
What's your cell # so we can call you when we get up there.

I will not be able to really go up there until Sunday morning, my cell number is 763-639-4574, I wished I had the time open to go Saturday too but I just don't. It looks as though Sunday is going to be the windier day too.

I'd say the forcast has never looked better for a weekend. It's gonna blow from the south and it's gonna be warm and sunny all weekend. What more could you ask for. I say we have an impromptu kite crossing on Friday and Sunday, just to spice things up. I'll be out at Malmo or Reedy (which ever is better) by noon on Friday. Can't wait to see everyone again.

Mille Lacs blew so hard on Wednesday - I came off the water at 6pm and it was still blowing 25-35mph - huge swell. It looks like it blew yesterday and will today but I don't see much wind up there Saturday. Sunday looks good and another power cold front coming on Wednesday (darn I'll be in Phoenix for work). More wind again later next week. Have a fun weekend up there.

I'm sure we've collectively enjoyed more time on Mille Lacs this year than any other year. What a great summer and fall!!
