Spleen (flysurfer) door 164.

Following Tom L's advise I ordered a Spleen 164 door, today I got out on it in the light airs.
If you have been looking for a midwest light air machine I'd say this has to be one of the best choices out there.
The construction is good with different but cool graphics. The foot straps are very comfy and easy to adjust, They have a nice feature which allows you to separate the 2 halves of the strap which makes it easy to mount, not the usual fight as you try to bend the strap the get the screws verticle. Strap mounting with no swear words.. boring but nice and no stripped threads.
Riding. The rocker on the board is very minimal, it has a different shape in that the waist of the board is narrower than the ends. ( snowboard like) this does 2 things. 1 when starting off it puts lots of planing area under the nose and tail, it stops pearling and helps you to edge the back end earlier than most boards.2.When you are under way the tips of the board flex upwards which straightens the side cut radius, effectively the water see's a straight rail.
This translates into earlier planing, edging and a board that rockets up wind, I mean rockets, most of the session I was reducing my edge as I did not want to go up the lake.
Without a doubt it is the lightest board I have picked up of this size. As you can really edge hard I was able to force higher jumps out of my equipment than I would normally get in a 10 to 15 mph wind.
Due to the lack of rocker the board gets going very quickly and enables you to utilise the apparent wind much earlier than other boards I have ridden. The result is getting going in much lighter winds.
I'm big 230lbs and you guys may have read my post about asking cabrinha for an 18m xbow, I don't need it any more. The Door has solved my light air problem.
You are all welcome to try it, If like me you spend a lot of time sinking in light airs heres your solution, Jim .....it's designed for you.
Nice feature is it's easy to ride no nasty traits.

Teran, dude how are you?.Great to hear from you, I still hate kiting I just do it now thats all. Stubborn baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!.
Nancy and I are thinking of coming to SPI in Nov. Whats the wind usually like at that time of year?.
