Oahe in SD???

I am thinking about going to Oahe Reservoir in South Dakota in late August. I've heard it is very windy there. Anyone ever abused the wind (or gotten abused by the wind) there? I'm wondering about kite launches, shallows, etc. Anyone interested in going?

Awesome!! I'll be going some time toward the end of August. My optomitrist says he fishes there. Says it is not fished much because of the wind. I've been checking it out on the web. Seems like some good possibilities for shallow water and good launches, but I can't be sure. I can get solid dates in a day or two. I'm taking my kid back to school in Sioux Falls, SD. Then I plan to head up to Oahe for a few days.

I will be at Oahe on the evening of 28 August. I'd like to kite for a few days. I'm open to either camping or sleeping indoors (hotel, motel, etc.).

Ah! That figures. I'll be in a trade show in Michigan that week.

I'm thinking I'm only going to need one of my Crossbows for the show, so if you need one to try-out we can try to get one to you.

I'm already sold on the Crossbow. I plan to get a 9m plus a 138 custom sometime in August or September.
