to everyone that had to work, clean out the garage, mow the lawn, visit grandma, babysit the kids, and anything else that kept you from windsurfing today. Absolutely fantastic!
I was up north sailing on the humble Horseshoe Lake just east of Big Pelican. Very nice high speed flat water session. It's good to be a wind junkie!
How about everyone else???
Thank you...

A bunch of kiters again had a good time at Malmo. I did a great down winder from Malmo to Reddy Creek. Thanks for the ride Chris. After that I pulled my back out and was "forced" to watch some great high powered action at Malmo. Everyone was out on 9M and Lit. It was great to see Hunter finally get out on his 7.
What a great day to ride. I'd like to hear some first hand accounts. I know my down winder really helped me work on boosting, and riding fast. I even pulled my first really smooth tail grab. Great to see everyone.

Hey DuckJibe, I was up on Horseshoe with you yesterday. My 5.7 and Tiga 260 were dialed in the puffs but I took one ride too many and had to make the long swim in. It would have been cleaner on Pelican but we got some nice rides- I think you had the better setup- you were planing non-stop throwing some nice jibes.
Yes I had a great time, a few of those blasts were a bit too much for my 6.5 but hey, what's a session without some overpowered rides right?
Could you uphaul on that setup? Looks like you were going to have to swim in if it didin't cooperate.
You mentioned you were just visiting right? I was very surprised (pleasantly) to see another sailor. I'm usually the only one.
Shoot me an email if you're planning on going up there again and I'll head over to Pelican with you if it blows. curtis (at) cklahr (dot) com

Curtis,
Nope, that's as big as I get- 5.7 and 83 liters. At 220 lbs, I can't uphaul it so I did end up swimming in several times only to be lured back out by big gusts. I really only go out on big days- mostly at White Bear. I was visiting a friend's cabin (Kris Pierre) on the point. I was giving lessons to her and my girlfriend on a 4.0m and my ancient Wayler Chipper board until it picked up enough for me to rig up. If I'm headed back up there I'll email you and we'll hit Pelican. But it will probably be a rare thing... hope we get another day like that one... today looks kinda promising. Laters,
