Waconia Saturday?

Post by Tighe »

I know Kite Island is the spot of choice though tomorrow's wind looks to the worst direction there, actually probably the only bad direction there. I agree with Eric, let's go somewhere else. Anyone been to Waconia lately?

NW is ideal at a Waconia. NNW may even create a bit of a wind shadow behind the bluff...sort like Kite Island...it may make for 50ft of turbo wind just past the bluff.

This will be an official gathering of the Clan at Waconia. All clan members must participate. he he. : )

Take 494 to hwy 7 head west to St. Bonni. and take a left at the main stop light in town. You will see the lake and the access on your right when the road jogs left and starts up hill.
Looks like 3-6 inches tonight now !!!!!
Snow flakes dancing in my head and my dreams..... :D

Hey Tighe If you are going to Waconia I still may be able to get over there. I really hope the winds are good. Supposed to be 10-15 acording to your forcast but I don't see why kite island is so bad for that wind. Couldn't you simply go to the other side of it??? But anyway If you are going out there I want to know so I can maybe come.

We've had people fly when the winds are from the same direction as tomorrow and they said it was really gusty. The winds are almost completely offshore so you get a lot of swirling. NW works though it looks like it will be NNW most of the day.

You may be in heaven if we get some soft snow. I'm bringing my snowboard with hopes of 3-6 inches.

Hope you can make it. If you need a ride either way, let me know. You are right on my way.
