Water temps

Post by Jacek »

I am not a big fan of wearing a drysuit, so I have been holding out on riding until I can have a comfortable session in my 3/2, without booties (I hate those too). When do you think the water will be warm enough to finally get out there? I have been out there before in early may so I think the time might be near.

I was out a week after ice-out with a wetsuit, no gloves, and no booties. I was fine. If you're waiting for the water to be warm enough for a wetsuit, you've been waiting way too long. You could have been out several weeks ago. I've been out several times already this spring and it gets warmer each time. I've got a friend who's already gone out without a wetsuit, but he's on a beginner board that he rarely falls from, so he doesn't have to worry about water temp as much.
The drysuit users on this site mentioned a while ago when it was the last day for drysuits.
You've missed some really good wind this spring.

Thanks for the info. I haven't been staying away from the water because of the temps, rather I am WAY too busy to go out and check it out for myself. It's amazing how much time (and money) a new house takes. I am looking forward to riding soon.
